Similarities and Differences between my Brother and my Sister

I have one brother and one sister who are very important for me. Their names are Ramon Antonio and Patricia Victoria. Spending a lot of time talking with them is one of my favorite hobbies. When I have a problem or I feel bad, I often ask them for help because they always give me good advice which make me feel happy. Also, when I am joyful, I usually tell them my cheerfulness and I enjoy sharing my happiness with them. They are always with me in bad and good moments; for example, when I failed level three, they told me that I should not worry because the next time I would do better. Both Ramon and Patricia are very nice and smart people. Most of the family says that my parents have wonderful children; however, my siblings do not toot their own horn. I have lived with them all my life, so I can say that they are the best siblings. Do you have a wonderful brother or sister like mine? Would you like to have my siblings? There are several differences and similarities between my brother and my sister.

In all this time, I have realized that my siblings have a lot in common. First of all, they like to go out on weekends because they do not have to work. Whereas during the week they cannot because of their jobs. They like to watch horror movies. Although later they will be biting their nails out of fear. They love eating Mexican, Nicaragua, and Chinese food. Also, they like to wear the same brands of clothes. When my mother travels to The United Stated, she often buys Tommy Hilfiger and Levi´s clothes. They usually buy their clothes of these brands because they say that they are the best and nicest brands. In addition, they like the same colors; for example, they like to wear white, yellow, and black T- shirts, black or brown shoes, and gray watches. Their favorite colors are red and turquoise; however, they do not have many objects of these colors. I admire them because they share everything; for example, if my sister has a movie and my brother wants to watch it, my sister will lend him the movie.

Even though they have many differences, they do not get angry with one another because they are mature enough. They have different personalities; my brother is generous, easygoing, and friendly. While my sister is serious, impatient, organized and moody. My sister is dark and my brother is white. Even though they have different skin colors, they have never had any problem about racism. My brother is fatter than my sister, he weighs two hundred and ten pounds and my sister weighs one hundred and twenty five pounds. Also, my brother is taller than my sister. He calls her ¨chaparrita de mi vida.¨ In addition, they have different jobs; however, they help each another when one of them does not understand something. My brother works in my family´s farm. He runs everything such as livestock sale, livestock purchase, and milk sale. My sister works in a famous company. She is the manager there. Another difference is that they do not relish the same kind of music. My brother prefers listening to rancheras or duranguences music because he can only dance these kinds of music. Whereas my sister likes all kind of music such as romantic, merengue, cumbia, reggaeeton, and others. When they go to parties, my sister usually dances more than my brother because she can dance all kind of music and he cannot. They always visit different places so they never meet each another. My brother prefers going to bars, restaurants, parks, and clubs. While my sister prefers going to movies, fast food restaurants, shopping malls, and discotheques.

In conclusion, my siblings have many differences and similarities, but they are happy with their good and bad things. At this moment of my life, I can say that I really love them with all their nobody is perfect. I hope they will never let me down and they are with me in all my difficult and easy moments. I cannot choose one between them because my feelings are equal for both of them. My mother taught me to respect and love all the members of my family the same way.

Poverty in Nicaragua

Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in all the world. Poverty generates many problems to the population. One of the principal problems that poverty generates is the bad educational system; many people have only few possibilities to study. The education is not free like in other countries. This makes young people become drug addicts, thieves, drunkards or murderers. In Nicaragua 65% of the population is poor. There is one place which is more affected by it. Managua is one of the cities where there is more poverty. The children do not study because at an early age they work. Another problem is unemployment. There are not enough jobs. In addiction, globalization is affecting the help we get from other countries due to a lack of economic stability. The national police of Nicaragua have either sufficient support or resources to provide safety to the country. The three best solutions are improving free public education, decreasing unemployment, and creating an useful government system.

The first solution is to improve free public education. Many people do not study; they do not have enough money to pay for their studies. Most poor people work and only have money to buy their own food and necessary things. If we had freer public education in Nicaragua, Nicaraguans could study. Poor children will not need to work to pay their studies. Poor parents will save that money to buy necessary things. If we have freer public education, there will be more successful people. We would have a better world with many excellent professionals. Unfortunately, there are so many problems to improve free public education. The principal obstacle is that it is very expensive and Nicaragua does not have a good economy to support it.

Another solution to the terrible poverty situation is to decrease unemployment. This problem affects everybody, but there are several people who are more affected by it. One of the principal reasons that cause poverty in Nicaragua is unemployment. People do not have money to pay all their necessities, and they are in a lot of debts. If in Nicaragua there were unemployment, there was not poverty. If all Nicaraguans have jobs, and money, they will not have to rob. There are a lot of thieves, drunkards, and homeless because of unemployment. People want to work; however, there are not enough companies which offer them jobs.

The best solution is to create a convenient government system. If we had an honest government system, Nicaragua would be a country where justice exists and corruption does not. All Nicaraguans would have the same rights. With a good government system, the costs food would come down. The cost of living in Nicaragua is exceptionally high. Many families cannot support themselves, but with a good government system they would do. Nicaragua needs an excellent president who would like the well-being of the Nicaraguans. Also, there will be a government system which respects the private property and the rights of others. If we had an appropriate government system, Nicaragua would be one of the best countries where poverty will not exist. However, there are always bad people that want only steal the money of the Nicaraguan.

In conclusion, all the Nicaraguans need freer education, jobs, and honest people in the government. All these solutions will help to decrease poverty in Nicaragua. Nicaraguans should combat poverty. The government system needs to invest money in education. It is the motive which improves the economic development of a country. Nicaragua needs a democratic government which promotes the foreign trade. Poverty is a serious problem that is causing the death of many people who live in Nicaragua.

Boaco and San Marcos

Boaco and San Marcos are two beautiful cities. Boaco is located in the center of Nicaragua. It is only eighty eight kilometers away from Managua. Boaco has small towns in it; for example, San Lorezo, Camoapa, Santa Lucia, and San Jose de los Remates. Boaco is called the city of two stories. It is located on a very irregular terrain that goes up and down throughout the whole area. For that reason, part of the city is called Boaco up and the other part Boaco down. Its topography is very irregular with many mountains around it. When people walk on the streets, they see a lot of mountains around them. San Marcos is located in the pacific of Nicaragua. San Marcos is a wonderful city which has many towns around it; for example, Masatepe, Jinotepe, La Concha, and others. This city has a nice climate. The weather is sunny and clear. I have been living in San Marcos since January. I can say this is a nice city to visit. I have realized that San Marcos and Boaco differ and are similar in size, transportation, and ways of celebrating their local festivities.

Boaco and San Marcos are the same size. They are big but not too big. Although San Marcos and Boaco are the same size, Boaco has more places to go out. In Boaco you can find many interesting places to visit. One of the oldest churches in Nicaragua is there. Boaco has three museums which are very important and famous. This wonderful city has a lighthouse where people can see all the city. Everybody can go out every weekend to different places. There are many bars, restaurants, parks, clubs, and shopping malls. Whereas Boaco has a lot of places to visit, San Marcos does not have. San Marcos does not have nice places to spend a fun time with friends. There people cannot find a discotheque. A discotheque is one of the best places that a city should have. There people can only find a nice restaurant called “La Casona,” but the food is very expensive.

These wonderful cities use cars and buses as a method of transportation. Most of the families have one or more cars. The people use their cars to move to another city, drive to work, or go to any place they want. Buses are very important in both cities; they generate money. Both Boaco and San Marcos use buses to move from city to city. Whereas in San Marcos there are bicycles as a method of transportation, in Boaco there are not. In San Marcos, bicycles are a cheap method of transportation. Most of the young men work using their bicycles to support their families. Boaco cannot have bicycles as a method of transportation because it is located in an irregular terrain. There are many hills and slopes. While in Boaco the most common method of transportation is taxi, in San Marcos is bicycle. Whereas in San Marcos people can only find taxis in the park, in Boaco people can find taxis in each corner.

The ways of celebrating their local festivities are very interesting. Both Boaco and San Marcos have a horse parade and a lot of processions. But that is where the similarities end. The local festivities in San Marcos have different order. They celebrate the Apostle Saint Marcos and Boaco celebrates Saint James. It is very different from the festival in Boaco. First, one person is in charge of taking care of the saint. That person is called butler. People give a lot of gifts to him, so he can give out food to poor people. Then there is a presentation of horses which are of the best breeds. Next, there is a horse parade. After that, there is a procession where Saint Marcos meets with the Virgin Montserrat from La Concha, Saint James from Jinotepe, and Saint Sebastian from Diriamba. Finally, there are fireworks in the park. The local festivities in San Marcos have many differences from the local festivities of Boaco. One of the most popular local festivities is from Boaco. First, there is a horse parade which is very famous around Nicaragua. Then there is the first procession of the Apostle Saint James. He is decorated with flowers of brilliant colors. The saint is taken in the same procession with national dances and music. Next, there is another procession. That is the most important and lively of all the events. Finally, there is the last procession. In that event there are three groups of chicheros. All the people dance and follow the rhythm of the music.

In conclusion, Boaco and San Marcos are two cities with many differences and similarities, but they are nice places to visit. I recommend people to visit these two wonderful cities with their family or friends. If people come to one of these cities, I am sure that they are going to have a funny time. Both Boaco´s and San Marcos´s people have different customs and traditions. People will learn new and interesting things. I prefer to go to Boaco. There, I can go to interesting places.

My name is Maria Auxiliadora Mena Robleto. I'm fifteen years old. I'm from Boaco city.This is a wonderful city where I have lived almost all my life. Nowadays, I'm studying English at Ave Maria University. There are 8 levels, and I'm in level 7. I almost finish this course.I'm happy because this is one of my goal which I have achieved.
